Mukhtasar: Har badge sirf aik cheez batata hai jo hum ne check ki: phone number, ID ya business documents. Badge ka matlab ye nahi ke seller ya uski cheez ki guarantee hai. Badge dekh kar bhi cheez khud check karein aur advance payment na bhejein.
On BUY.net.pk you will not find a general "trusted" or "verified seller" label. Each badge names the one thing that was checked, so you can decide how much weight to give it. This page explains what each badge means, what it does not mean, and how to get one.
Phone verified
- What we checked: the user entered a one-time code that we sent to that mobile number.
- What it tells you: at that moment, the person had the phone with that number in their hand.
- What it does not tell you: who the person is, or whether the SIM is registered in their own name.
Email verified
- What we checked: the user entered a code sent to that email address.
- What it tells you: they can read mail at that address. Nothing more.
ID verified
- What we checked: the user sent us an image of their CNIC or another government photo ID, and a member of our team reviewed it and compared the name with the account.
- What it tells you: an identity document in this person's name was shown to us and looked genuine to a trained reviewer.
- What it does not tell you: we are a marketplace, not a government office. We do not have access to official identity databases, and a well-made forgery could pass a visual check. The badge says nothing about the items the person sells or how they will behave.
Business verified
- What we checked: a business store sent documents that show the business exists, such as a registration or tax certificate, a trade licence, a utility bill for the shop or similar proof, and a member of our team reviewed them against the store's name and address.
- What it tells you: at the time of the check, these documents supported the claim that this is a real business at that location.
- What it does not tell you: that the business is licensed for every activity, that its stock is genuine, or that its prices, warranty or service are good. Ask for a receipt and a written warranty as you would in any shop.
Verified service provider
- What we checked: the provider's identity document and, where they supplied them, proof of their business or trade.
- What it tells you: we know who registered this provider profile.
- What it does not tell you: it is not a skills test, a licence or an insurance certificate. Check reviews from completed bookings, ask about experience, and agree the price and scope in writing in the chat.
Things that are not verification
- Featured, Top and Urgent are paid placements bought by the seller. They are labelled so that you can tell them apart, and they say nothing about trust.
- Reviews and ratings come from other users, and only after a real deal or a completed booking. A seller or provider with no reviews shows no rating at all; we do not fill the gap with a number.
- "Member since" is simply the date the account was opened.
- Item details such as PTA status, mileage, accident history or warranty are declared by the seller. We do not inspect items.
How to get verified
- Phone and email: confirm the one-time code when you register, or later from your account.
- ID: open the verification section of your account, upload clear photos of your ID and submit. Make sure all four corners are visible and nothing is covered.
- Business or provider: open the verification page in your business or provider dashboard and upload the documents listed there.
A person on our team reviews each request. You will be notified when it is approved, when we need a clearer or additional document, or when it is declined with the reason.
What happens to your documents
- They are stored in private storage, not on the public website, and can be opened only by authorised staff for the purpose of the check.
- Other users never see your documents or your ID number. They see only the badge.
- We keep the outcome, the name and the last four digits of the ID number as a record of the check.
- More detail is in the privacy policy.
Badges can be removed
A badge reflects a check made at one point in time. We may ask for the check to be repeated, and we remove a badge if the details change, if a document turns out to be false, or if the account breaks the marketplace rules. Using someone else's documents leads to permanent suspension.
Use badges wisely
A badge is one useful signal among several. Even with a fully verified seller or provider, the advice in the safety center still applies: meet in a public place, inspect the item and its documents, and pay only at the handover. If someone with a badge behaves dishonestly, report the ad or the chat so that we can review the account.
