Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. BUY.net.pk uses a few of them, and similar browser storage, to keep the site working and, if you agree, to understand how it is used. This notice explains which ones and how to control them.
Necessary cookies (always on)
These are needed for the site to work, so they do not ask for permission.
- Session cookie: keeps you logged in as you move between pages and holds short-lived information such as a form you are filling in.
- Security token (XSRF-TOKEN): protects forms and buttons from being submitted by another website in your name.
- Remember me: if you choose to stay logged in on a device.
- Chosen city (buy_city): remembers the city you picked so that search and the home page show nearby ads.
- Cookie choice (buy_consent): remembers whether you accepted or declined optional cookies, for up to 180 days.
- Language: your choice of English or Urdu is remembered as part of the session.
The app version of the site also stores a small offline copy of some pages in your browser so that it opens faster. Spam protection on some forms may set its own short-lived cookie to tell people from bots.
Optional cookies (only with your consent)
These load only after you press "Accept all" in the cookie banner. If you choose "Only necessary", their scripts are not loaded at all.
- Analytics: tools such as Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager, to count visits and see which pages are useful. They set cookies such as _ga.
- Advertising: if we show ads from Google AdSense or measure our own campaigns with the Meta pixel, those services may set cookies to limit how often you see an ad and to measure results.
Whether each of these tools is in use at a given time depends on our current setup. None of them receives your name, phone number or chat messages from us.
Changing your choice
- Open the cookie settings again and choose "Accept all" or "Only necessary". Your new choice applies from the next page you open.
- You can also delete cookies in your browser settings. If you delete the BUY.net.pk cookies you will be logged out and the banner will appear again.
- Blocking all cookies in your browser will stop login and posting from working.
Links to other sites
When you follow a link to another website, such as Car.net.pk, a social network or a government portal, that site sets its own cookies under its own policy. Links from BUY.net.pk to Car.net.pk carry tags that say the visit came from us; they do not identify you.
