Starting an online shop on BUY.net.pk

Many small businesses in Pakistan already sell online without calling it that: a photo on WhatsApp status, a post in a Facebook group, a call from a friend of a customer. A business store on BUY.net.pk puts that same stock in front of people who are searching for it by name, in your city, today. It needs no website and no developer. This guide walks through setting one up properly and running it so that enquiries turn into sales.

Is a store right for you?

A personal account is meant for people selling their own things. Open a business store if you:

  • have a shop, showroom, workshop or office;
  • sell from home regularly, for example clothing, home-made food or refurbished phones;
  • are a dealer or agent, for vehicles, property or equipment;
  • need more than 10 ads live at a time.

A store gives you 30 free live ads, your own page, staff logins, bulk upload and reports. Buyers also see that your ads come from a business, which sets the right expectation about receipts and warranty.

Step 1: set up the store page

Your store page is your shop front. Buyers who like one ad will open it to see who you are.

  • Name: your real trading name, as on your shop board or cards.
  • Logo: a clear, square image. A plain photo of your signboard is better than no logo.
  • Main category and city: what you mostly sell and where.
  • Description: three or four plain sentences. What you sell, how long you have been in business, where you are, and what a buyer can expect: delivery, warranty, exchange.
  • Area and hours: so people know when they can visit or call.
  • Tagline: one line of fact, such as "New and used laptops, Hafeez Centre".

New stores are reviewed before they appear, so fill everything in before you submit.

Step 2: get verified

Apply for the Business verified badge from your dashboard by uploading documents that show the business exists, such as a registration or tax certificate and proof of your shop address. The badge tells buyers that our team reviewed those documents. It is one of the few things that separate you, at a glance, from a stranger with a phone. What the badge does and does not mean is explained on the verification page.

Step 3: list your stock well

  • One ad per product. "All kinds of mobiles available" is not an ad. A buyer searches for a model; give them that model, with its price.
  • Consistent photos. Same background, same angle, good light. A store whose photos match looks like a real shop. For new, sealed products you may use the maker's image; for used stock, photograph the actual unit.
  • Real prices. Enter the price you will actually sell at. "Contact for price" loses most buyers before they write.
  • Clear terms in each ad: warranty and who provides it, exchange or return conditions, and delivery or pickup.
  • Right category. Each product in its own category, so it appears in the right filters.

With a lot of stock, use bulk upload: fill in the spreadsheet template, upload it, and fix any rows the checker flags. Then add photos. Ads without photos get very few replies.

Step 4: answer quickly, with a team if needed

The shop that replies first usually gets the sale. Buyers message several sellers and visit the one who answers clearly.

  • Add staff to the store with their own logins instead of sharing one password. You can see who handled what, and remove access when someone leaves.
  • Decide who answers chats and at what hours, and say so in your store description.
  • Answer the question that was asked. "Yes, available, last price 48,000, shop open till 9" is a complete reply.
  • Keep deals in the BUY.net.pk chat, so there is a record of what was promised.

Step 5: be clear about payment and delivery

BUY.net.pk does not process payments between you and your customer, and it does not deliver. That leaves you free to work the way you already do, but you must state your terms plainly:

  • Pickup from the shop, delivery within the city, or courier to other cities, and what each costs.
  • Payment on pickup, cash on delivery, or bank transfer. Buyers on a classifieds site are rightly careful about paying in advance; cash on delivery or payment at the shop will win you more orders than a demand for advance payment.
  • Give a proper receipt, and honour the warranty you advertised.

Taxes and any licence your trade needs remain your own responsibility.

Step 6: read your numbers

Your dashboard shows real activity: views, saves, chats and contact clicks for each ad, and a list of leads. Use it weekly.

  • Views but no contacts: the price or the photos need work.
  • Few views: the title or category is wrong, or demand is low for that item.
  • Lots of chats, few sales: check how fast and how clearly your team replies.
  • Leads: mark each one contacted or closed, so nobody is forgotten or called twice.

The figures are counted, not estimated, so a new store starts from zero. Give it a few weeks of steady listing before judging.

Step 7: promote selectively

Paid promotions such as Featured make an ad more visible for a set number of days. They work best on an ad that is already good: a popular product, a new arrival, or stock you need to clear. Packages for businesses are on the pricing page.

Step 8: earn reviews honestly

Buyers can review your store only after a real deal on BUY.net.pk. You cannot buy or write them, and you should not try: fake reviews are removed and put the store at risk. What you can do is serve people well and reply, once and politely, to every review, including a critical one. A calm reply to a complaint persuades more new buyers than five stars do.

Rules that protect your store

  • Do not post the same product several times or in several cities.
  • Do not put phone numbers or links in titles, descriptions or photos.
  • Mark sold stock as sold; stale ads lead to complaints.
  • Never advertise copies or "first copy" goods, or anything on the prohibited list.

Keep a routine

In the first week, open the store, send your verification documents and list your twenty best sellers. Then keep going: a few new ads each week, sold items marked sold, and one look at the reports. That routine, more than any promotion, is what builds a store. See business stores on BUY.net.pk, or read the help article to start yours.
