Meeting
- Meet in daylight in a busy public place, such as a market, a mall or a bank branch.
- Take someone with you and tell family where you are going.
- For expensive items, meet at a bank so the money can be counted and deposited on the spot.
Inspecting
- Compare the item with the ad. Switch it on and test everything.
- Phones: dial *#06# and check the IMEI with PTA; make sure the seller signs out of their account and resets the phone.
- Vehicles: match the engine and chassis numbers with the registration document and verify the registration with the excise department.
- Property: see original ownership documents and verify them at the relevant office before paying anything.
Paying
- Pay at the handover, not before. No token, no advance, no delivery fee.
- Cash counted together, or a transfer made while you are both present, is safest.
- Ask for a receipt for valuable items, with both names and CNIC numbers.
- BUY.net.pk does not collect or hold payments between buyers and sellers.
